I landscape Spring - Fall, so I purchase a new pair of boots each season. I have purchased Timberland Pro's for the past 6 years, and since I found out the joys of Amazon, I figured I'd seek out an alternative pair to the Timberlands. Here are my thoughts after a week of throwing mulch in the rain and snow. Here are my simple takeaways:- I wear a size 11 and purchased that in this boot. I normally wear two pairs of socks just for warmth when it's below 35 degrees, and that was a good thing for these boots. Couple the double socks with a pair of good soles and these fit like a charm.- For landscaping, the grip on the bottom of the boots is just ok (hence the 4 stars). I would imagine the rain and show had a strong hand in the slipping, but either way I think it's something to relay to potential buyers.- The illsulation of the boots seem be pretty good, because my feet never got cold. Again, I wear two pair of socks, but for all my Northeast residents, I'm sure you've experienced cold toes with multiple socks before.- As with any steel toe boot, these things are heavy. Don't expect anything different with this boot. They are built for wear and tear.I bought these boots over a month ago and the first day they didnt need any breaking in, i will say they arent waterproof though because of the fabric tongue, but other than that i have no complaints, the sole of the shoe is made from some compressed foam type of substance but im guessing its for the anti electroshock feature. Very sleek look, i recommend working 12 hours a day 6 days a week heavy labor, my feet do not hurt afterwards.We have used Caterpillar products for a while and they are a great value.Although we had a problem with a defective boot, Amazon shipped a new pair and replaced them immediately.The boots are comfortable, durable and look dressy enough not to look like workboots. My son uses them as his everyday shoe.Update: The boots tore at the seam after 5 monthsAverage boot at best - quality has really gone down.Worst pair of boots ever , I ordered them for a job I had where I stood most of the day this piece of sh!t boot left my feet hurting as if I had plantars fasciitis the only one for about one day in November then I have another job that required steel toe boots this was a job that required a lot of movement not a standstill position so I thought I'd give this another try but after one day of wearing them I literally couldn't stand the pain of it I should of returned them in November but was to lazy to do it save your self some time and money don't buy these they are heavy af and the padding feels like your walking bare foot on concrete 4 hours will feel like 20 hours on your feet.Only gave it a one star cuz it required a star to post my comment if not it would of gotten a big fat zeroSeems to be an average pair of work boots. I haven't worn them long enough to critique the durability. The size is about 1/2 size larger than expected. The width is fine for wider feet. The laces are cheap and I'm sure they'll break sooner rather than later. If the price of the boots wasn't discounted deeply, I'd be more disappointed than I am.Boots look nice but my feet did not like them. My quest continues to find a pair of boot that fits.do not usually purchase stull like this online for it is hard to tell if it is going to fit exactly as they say. I bit the bullet and purchased them, got them and they fit as expected and very comfortable, no different than wearing any other type of boot.I expected a more comfortable sole but is good quality and fit well. Stronger material and good design.Rubber already starting to brake on the sole. Laces need to be replaced. Very disappointed.Not the real thing .... already broke at one side.Fits very tight. It is not a real WideReturned these after trying on. Too small. Not wide at all. Probably need a full size larger. Moved on to something else.
