My profession is such that I literally wear the soles off my shoes with walking and have to replace my shoes 2 times a year. I was buying dress boots with 2-4 inch heels on them from department stores and putting insoles in them because I can’t wear athletic shoes or nursing shoes with my business professional clothes. But those types of shoes weren’t as durable as I need, even really nice expensive leather dress boots don’t hold up for more than six months with what I do, and even with insoles my feet hurt by the end of the day. I needed to do something different and so these boots have been an absolute godsend. With the suede and leather top they look great and almost like a dress boot but they have such utility. They have such an amazing thick anti-slip sole and really support the feet. They seem to fit regularly to me, but I don’t have unusual or different feet. They are pretty average and I don’t usually have problems fitting shoes. I sized up because my feet swell and I also wanted to put insoles in these. I put the Dr. Scholls “men’s construction” insoles in mine and I wear them with a thin dress sock. The first few days they weren’t comfortable at all, not painful to wear just uncomfortable in that my feet felt like they had too much support and weren’t used to it. But about a week or so in the new stiffness started to break down and the shoe started to mold/fit my foot. Now I can easily go 8-10 hours of almost constant on my feet and a lot of walking and my feet don’t hurt at all at the end of the day. These are very heavy shoes, i think due to the thick soles and steel toes but for me this isn’t an issue. Be prepared to stick with them about a week/week and a half to really give the fit a try and break them in.
